Indiana Tech Andorfer Commons
Fort Wayne, IN
As a new concept for Indiana Tech, Andorfer Commons, is the “place” created for all the students on campus to come together regularly, meet, interact, make friends and spend time enjoying their four full years at Indiana Tech. This Library/Student Interaction Center structure is located adjacent to the residence hall, and close to the fraternity homes to encourage constant student usage.
The 67,000 s.f., Andorfer Commons includes a six-lane bowling alley, a movie theater, lecture hall, meeting areas, bookstore, student services, “Grab-N-Go” café, and food service for the campus with a new kitchen and dining area.
One side of the building is curved to form a plaza for student use, and the other side is connected with an enclosed walkway to the campus gymnasium and fitness center. The interior is arranged so that the Library and Dining Hall are in the most prominent locations, with the movie theater between. All the floors have balconies into the main eating area for increased social interaction.
