Project Description:

The Allen County Public Library transformed its existing MakerLab into The Studios at the Library—a renewed systemwide identity supporting creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Located in a newly renovated space at the Main Library, the project expanded upon a decade of technology-focused services with flexible, accessible studio environments for art, fabrication, and audiovisual production.

The redevelopment converted a former retail space into a larger, state-of-the-art facility featuring collaborative work zones, advanced equipment, and specialized recording studios. Enhanced services included 3D printing and scanning, laser cutting, vinyl production, and podcast and video recording supported by professional-grade software and training. This initiative aligned with ACPL’s 2024–28 strategic plan to grow community learning opportunities and support small business development.
