Indiana Hotel Renovation
Historic Embassy Theatre
Fort Wayne, IN
Renovation
Project Description:
Constructed in 1928 as the Emboyd Theatre and Indiana Hotel, the historic Embassy Theatre in downtown Fort Wayne is one of the centerpieces of art and culture in northeast Indiana.
The $10,000,000 project includes the renovation of several floors of the Indiana Hotel to house a two-story ballroom, a rooftop garden, rehearsal/studio space, classrooms, history center, new administrative offices, new stairs and elevators, new box office, and a new main entry off Harrison Street. In addition, two new bar service areas will be added to the Embassy’s main lobby.
This work will be a complete renovation, taking the building down to its structural frame and floor slabs, providing all new HVAC, electrical, plumbing and data services. Additionally, the rooftop structure will be braced to allow for the increased live load that an occupied rooftop beer garden will generate.
All this work will be completed while the Embassy is in operation, without the creation of noise, dust or inconvenience for the patrons in any way.
