Project Description:

The Town of North Manchester, seeking to replace its existing indoor pool (condemned), asked Moake Park to conduct a series of public meetings to determine if a new building was desired, and if so, what other programmatic elements should be included within the new design.  The final project includes a warm water family pool with slide, a six-lane lap pool, a whirlpool, outdoor splash pad, steam and sauna rooms, as well as a large fitness room, aerobics room, childcare areas, offices and locker rooms.  An additional feature was a classroom immediately adjacent to the pool.  This room can be rented by the public, for children’s parties opening onto the exterior splash pad, and can also be used for training of safety personnel.  Finally, family lockers and an open cafe with views of all activities complete this visually striking, efficient design.
